Carl Corey (American, b. 1954)

American documentarian and photographer, Corey’s work is centered on covering the American landscape, with a focus on areas of historical significance.  His observations usually identify physical and societal landmarks, but he takes a profoundly personal approach.  He has won numerous awards for his photography and also for several of his books. (Rancher, 2007, Tavern League, 2011, Love and Money, 2014.)

His work has been exhibited widely in solo and group shows in America and abroad and his images have also been featured in many of photography’s most prestigious periodicals.  His work is represented in major museum, corporate, and private collections.  He has received over 100 awards from the publishing and photography communities.  In 2019 he received a Guggenheim Fellow in Photography.
