Julian Schnabel (American, b. 1951)
Renowned at an early age for his paintings in the 1980s movement of “Neo-Expressionism” Schnabel was a formidable figure during an age recognized for excess. Using a variety of media (including his most notable which was the use of broken crockery) he is also a printmaker and film director. He lives and works in New York City and his prolific output has brought about many solo exhibitions at major galleries and museums worldwide.
